Swim course:
The swim leg is held within the confines of the main lake of the Regatta Centre. With the early morning water typically smooth, the start commences a third of the way down the main lake heading past the main grandstand and around the buoy turning right and a quick exit up the ramp and a short run into the transition area for the bike. Wetsuits are typically permitted unless the lake temperature is over Triathlon Australia regulations. |

Cycle course:
The cycle course is extremely flat on car-free sealed bitumen making for fast times. Some technical sections added in 2007 make it an entertaining challenge. As a 2 lap circuit it also allows spectators to keep an eye on all the action. With some tight turns on the course it helps for competitors to keep left to allow faster bikes to get past. Nepean Triathlon is a draft free event with time penalties applying for infringements to this rule. |

Run course:
An out and back run course, consisting of two laps allows you to keep an eye on your competitors. Along the edge of the Regatta Centre main lake again a flat course which at this stage most are thankful for. A slight uphill sprint to the finishing chute to test the legs and then it's all over. |
