Penrith Valley Nepean Triathlon

A team wave is included in the Penrith Valley Nepean Triathlon where teams of 2 or 3
competitors may form a male, female or mixed team to complete the race.
NOTE: One race licences DO NOT give competitors personal accident coverage. The public liability benefit contained therein benefit the race director only.
Closing date
(note: entries closed early in 2008 as events reached capacity)
Entries close on Wednesday 18th November 2009 with a late
fee of $10 added after that. Entries will only be accepted on-line after that date and on-line entries for both races will close at 4pm on Friday 27th November 2009 if there are positions in the race still open. There will be no late entries on race day.
Refunds
Refunds will be given up to Wednesday 18th November, 2009
Race packs
All race packs to be picked up at race site on Saturday afternoon from 2pm-5pm or from 5:30am on Sunday morning.
Prizes
- Guy vs Girl outright winner
A
handicap format where the ladies wave will start ahead of the male wave by
the difference between the leading male and female averaged over the past five years to determine the overall handicap race winner. The first three placegetters male and female
receiving $1000, $500 and $250 and the overall handicap winner receiving an additional $1000. Any male triathlete who has a professional licence and who wishes to start in the first male wave to race for the handicap prize instead of age group should contact Gordon Bell on 0420 514 220.
- Outright an age group winners - Trophies for 1st, 2nd or 3rd
- Oldest finisher - $100 (Donated by Nepean Legend Peter Smith)

Rules and Regulations
General rules - Triathlon Austraia rules apply
- Entries will be accepted only on the Triathlon Entry Form, duly completed and signed by
the entrant or parent/guardian if under 18 years.
- The organiser reserves the right to reject or cancel any entry at any time, and to postpone
or alter the event should adverse conditions prevail.
- Each entrant shall compete on the approved course, not accept outside assistance and
shall accept the judges decision as final. Any assistance rendered during the Triathlon
will result in immediate disqualification of the competitor.
- Each entrant will be responsible for familiarising himself/herself with the start and
finish locations of the event stages as well as the appropriate course.
- Supporter’s vehicles must not follow competitors during the event. The only vehicles
permitted to follow competitors being Police and identified official cars.
- Swim hats will be supplied and must be worn during swim event.
- Competitors must ensure they are fit enough to complete the course.
- A top must be worn whilst on the cycle leg and run leg.
- Race number supplied must be worn during cycle and run legs.
Specific rules – Penrith Valley Nepean Triathlon
Paul's Warehouse swim leg
- The use of fins, paddles, snorkels or flotation devices of any kind will not be allowed,
without prejudice to the physically handicapped.
- Any competitor unable to complete the swim event shall promptly report the fact to a
Marshal. Swimmers experiencing difficulty during this stage shall signal for assistance by raising an arm in the air.
Panther Cycles cycle leg
- Cyclists must abide by the governing highway code, and shall promptly obey any
instruction from police or accredited marshal during the event.
- Each competitor will be individually responsible for the repair and maintenance of own
bike with no outside assistance. The cyclist must be prepared to handle any possible
mechanical malfunction.
- Australian standards approved cycle helmet must be worn.
Brooks run leg
- No outside assistance is permitted
